Learn Fresh Portfolio Graphics

June 2020 for Nominee Design

Graphics created to show off the new brand for Learn Fresh on Nominee’s portfolio site.

Nominee’s brand design team created an impactful visual identity system to best represent the organization’s goal of inspiring social, emotional, and STEM learning in underprivileged kids.

As the launch date grew closer, I was assigned to create graphics to accompany the case study on Nominee’s portfolio page. I used existing brand styles to create images that showcased the styles in context, but the fact that this was a graphic for our own portfolio gave me the freedom to be a tad more creative with some of these graphics, most notably the ones that tie in to their values or social-emotional development, student engagement, and STEM learning.

I used patterns and elements used in the brand application to create graphics for these values that are abstractions of the neurotransmitters that relate to each of them.

EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT: SEROTONIN

Its biological function is complex and multifaceted, modulating mood, cognition, reward, learning, and memory.

Description from Wikipedia.

ENGAGEMENT: DOPAMINE

Dopamine signals the desirability of an outcome, which in turn propels the organism's behavior toward or away from achieving that outcome.

Description from Wikipedia.

LEARNING: GLUTAMATE

Because of its role in synaptic plasticity, glutamate is involved in cognitive functions such as  learning and memory in the brain.

Description from Wikipedia.

In addition to these neurotransmitter graphics, I created images showing off various real-life applications of the brand, including banners, social media/web mockups, business cards, and stickers.

My favorite application concept I created was a simple out of home ad that emphasized the active energy of the brand with a scrolling marquee.
